FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 23: The holidays in Collingswood kick off on Friday, November 23 at 7 p.m.! Santa descends from atop Borough Hall by way of the Collingswood Fire Department’s ladder truck to wish all the families of Collingswood and beyond a wonderful season! He comes just in time for the Borough’s official Tree Lighting Ceremony. Choral groups sing as the town tree is lit up with twinkling lights and the Mayor and Commissioners express season’s greetings. The trees along the Haddon and Collings Avenue business districts will glow with hundreds of thousands of lights while storefronts sparkle, decorated with garland and decorations set up in beautiful holiday displays. On November 23, after the Tree Lighting, get the first pair of 2018 HOLOSPEX!These holographic lenses bend the light to create a magical pattern from every bright point of light. Just like in 2017 Collingswood merchants will release a new pair four weekends during the holiday season and the first pair, STAR, will be released just after the Tree Lighting! After the merriment of the lighting, visit local shops for Holospex. Stay in town and start your holiday shopping! The retro- style 3-D glasses add new holiday magic to Collingswood’s already breathtaking Collingswood is hosting its annual Collingswood Cash sale! Collingswood Partners will again give away $45,000 to patrons of Collingswood businesses. Shoppers that purchase $50 in Collingswood Cash –the Borough’s equivalent to a mall gift card– will receive an additional $20 to spend anywhere in town.
